Fabien and Vincent have been friends for a long time. Back in the last century, while studying at engineering school, they would meet up on weekends to go windsurfing. Through this sport, they shared great laughs, a passion for performance, and the pleasure of being in harmony with nature. Little did they know that 30 years later, their respect for the environment, the wind, and the flow of air would form the heart of a major professional adventure together.

After graduation, Fabien and Vincent pursued careers in industrial SMEs, each in different fields. Fabien focused on mechanics and business management, while Vincent worked in energy and customer relations. In 2010, while heading the design office, Vincent had the opportunity to develop the first generation of thermodynamic dehumidifiers. This product led him to visit many greenhouses, sparked his passion for the interaction between climate and agronomy, and allowed him to meet numerous producers. With his newfound understanding of greenhouses and recognizing unmet needs in the market, Vincent saw an opportunity to explore this field further. But how could he do this alone?

Then Fabien and Vincent crossed paths again. Their complementary skills were still evident, and they both shared a desire to take on a new challenge focused on the energy transition. Together, they were stronger. With the support of the Montpellier startup incubator, BIC (Business Innovation Center), they realized they had everything needed to make this venture a success. So they took the plunge (as any windsurfer would!) and officially founded AirGaïa in May 2021. Soon after, a third partner, Jean-Noël, joined the team, bringing his legal expertise. The first year was packed with achievements, including two patents and the successful installation of France’s first medical cannabis greenhouse.

The R&D efforts then expanded, creating a comprehensive range of products and solutions for greenhouse and indoor cultivation. This wouldn’t have been possible without the invaluable support of their growing team. The adventure is just beginning, and we invite you to be a part of it!
